I've seen crafted in japan above the sn and I may have seen made in japan below as well.Greco actually was pre-Fender Japan. I should start collecting these SN photos for you. I love this thread, Fender Japan mysteries are coming out. Perhaps Fender Japan used this scheme to differentiate certain models from standard issues. It is Crafted in Japan but it also has Made in Japan as well as the serial numbers stamped in the headstock. I will try tp post pics if they are small enough to post. The headstock say Made in Japan and a stamped Crafted in Japan on the rear of neck where it joins the Body. I recently picked up a 75 Reissue Jazz here and contacted Fender in California and they had no Idea what I had from the serial number.
